The Work of Fernando M Diaz

I first came across Fernando M Diaz’ work while vacationing in San Miguel de Allende last December. San Miguel boasts a large community of artists, and while touring his gallery at la Escuela, I was immediately stuck by the gentle yet striking forms he creates from steel.

So much so, that I commissioned one for myself in our yet to be finished garden. Much like the Kohler commercial a few years back where clients commission an architect to design a home around a kitchen faucet.

In addition to his amazing sculptures, he draws and paints while focusing heavily on interpreting the written language through form, specifically ancient Hebrew from his Sephardic background.

Check out more of his amazing artwork here and stay tuned for more photos of our completed garden in the autumn of 2017
